Update Galaxy S6 Edge G925F to Stable DeathNote Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

No doubt that the official ROMs are good but if you need custom features and want to taste the amazing third-party apps then you’ll be differently looking for a stable custom ROM. Currently Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based custom ROM DeathNote, which is the most popular custom firmware ROM and is available for Galaxy S6 Edge. If you want to install this stable Android 5.1.1 Lollipop DeathNote custom ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge then follow the given step-by-step guide.

Please note that DeathNote custom ROM is not officially released by Samsung, thus you’ll need to have a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM in order to flash it on your Galaxy S6 Edge. Now go ahead and follow these instructions.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Enable USB debugging option on your phone by navigating to Settings > Development Options > USB debugging.

Steps To Install DeathNote Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on Galaxy S6 Edge:

1:- First, download DeathNote Android 5.1.1 custom firmware file and Google Apps from the above given links for your Galaxy S6 edge G925F on the desktop of your PC.

2:- Now plug Galaxy S6 Edge to the PC using its USB data cable.

3:- Transfer the firmware .zip file to root folder of your SD card on the phone.

4:- Unplug the device and turn it OFF in order to boot into recovery mode.

5:- Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.

6:- While the Galaxy S6 Edge is now in recovery mode, perform a Nandroid backup of your current OS.

7:- In the recovery menu, select wipe data / factory reset and confirm to wipe data.

8:- Go to the main menu of recovery, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard. Now locate the DeathNote Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom firmware file and select it. Confirm to begin the flashing process.

9:- Repeat the same process to install Google Apps on your Galaxy S6 Edge.

10:- Go back to recovery menu and reboot the device into the new DeathNote custom ROM. The device may take a few minutes (4-5) to boot for the first time.
