We have all faced that situation when we are away from home or need to urgently call someone for the meeting but our Android’s battery is quickly slipping away. Nothing destroys productivity or efficiency than a dead or a draining battery. We can’t plug in our Android devices instantly when all its battery life is squeezed out. As we can’t carry our chargers with us all the time and it can be a chore to get through a busy day with stamina to do that. Here are few tips and tricks to help you out to save your android device battery life a little more and not getting stuck in such unfortunate situations.

1. Turn Off Animation and Decrease Background Processes

In order to kill the animation and decrease the background processes, you need to turn ON the developer option on your Android device. To switch to the developer options, just go to Settings > About. Tap on the Build number repeatedly until you get a notification displaying that you have been promoted to Developer status. You are good to go!

After this now go back to the settings menu, a new item will pop up called “Developer Options”.

Tap this item and scroll down in the menu, stop when you see animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale options.

By default, the animation scale is currently set to Animation scale x1. Disable all these to “Animation off” option. On further scrolling, you will find Background Process Limit menu item. By default, it has been set to “standard limit” but adjusts these to 3 or 4 processes.

2. Limit Location Services

You can also save your android’s device battery by limiting the location services of various apps. You can disable the “Location and Google Search” option or “Wi-Fi and Mobile Network Location” option to prevent your Android device from using Wi-Fi and/or mobile networks for calculating your precise location and sending data to Google servers.

3. Install a Better-Optimized Launcher

4. Update your Operating System

Android devices are becoming more and more efficient with time as Google adds more power-saving features to the OS. Updating your device to the latest operating system can improve the battery life and increase its speed. Special features for battery saving are being introduced in the latest OS like for example Android Oreo’s key feature of shutting down the processes in the cache that has been stayed “inactive” after a specific length of time. Manufacturers have added their own features, such as Samsung’s ultra-power saving mode, that changes your screen to a grayscale theme and limits app usage.

5. Freezing Rarely used Apps

Performance of the android device can be improved by freezing the rarely used apps. Freezing means, not uninstalling the apps but to making them inactive and limiting them from using the device’s resources. You can get these apps out of the freezer anytime in need. Apps data remains stored in the freezer and don’t get deleted.

By implementing the above tips you can increase your battery life and will improve your android device’s efficiency as well. If we missed any point, feel free to comment!
