Root Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus SM-G901F and Flash a Custom Recovery

  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on the device.
  • Download and install the latest Samsung USB Drivers on your PC.
  • Ensure that the battery level of your device is charged at least about 80%.

Steps to Root Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus SM-G901F using CF-Root:

Step No 1: – First, extract the downloaded CF-Auto-Root package for Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus (CF-Auto-Root-kccat6-kccat6xx-smg901f.zip) on the desktop of your PC.

Step No 2: – Unzip Odin flashing tool as well and double-click on it to run on the PC.

Step No 3: – In Odin, click on “PDA” button and find the CF-Root file that you’ve extracted in Step No 1. Select the extracted file, not the .zip file itself.

Step No 4: – Make sure that “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options are checked and “Re-Partition” option should be unchecked in the Odin tool.

Step No 5: – Now Power Off the device to boot it into Download Mode.

Step No 6: – Power On the device by holding down Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time.

Step No 7: – Once a warning message appears, press Volume Up button and the device will be rebooted into Download Mode.

Step No 8: – Connect the Galaxy S5 Plus with the PC via its USB Data Cable.

9: – Hit the Start button in Odin to begin the flashing CF-Root package on the device.

Step No 10: – Your device will automatically reboot once the flashing process completed.

That’s All! You’ve rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat using CF-Root Method.

Steps to Flash Custom Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus SM-G901F:

Step No 1: – Run Odin flashing tool on your PC as an Administrator.

Step No 2: – Check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in Odin and Uncheck Repartition option.

Step No 7: – In Odin, click on the Start button, the flashing CWM Recovery will be launched on your device.

Step No 8: – The Galaxy S5 Plus will automatically reboot after flashing the CWM Recovery on it.

  2. Noooo… I’ve triend it a second time (after unbricking and and reviving stock Android) but I still get FAIL!
    I can not PASS! o.O

  3. Lars, did you check the USB debugging in the developers options? I had what you experienced and after I got it back I went in and checked that and alls well on 3rd attempt
