So if you have updated your Galaxy S5 Mini to the latest Lollipop Android version then being an advanced Android user you’d like to root your S5 Mini to enjoy those third-party apps that needs root access, custom ROMs, over clocking CPU and boost the battery performance etc. Here’s a good news that you can now root your Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800H on Android 5.1.1 firmware with build number G800HXXU1BOI2.
In this guide you’ll be required to flash a custom kernel first and then will root it with the SuperSU package using a custom recovery such as TWRP pre-installed on Galaxy S5 Mini to get root access over the internal file system. We’ll use Odin flashing tool to flash the modified kernel. Ready to root Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800H? Go ahead and follow the given instructions carefully. This guide containing the G800HXXU1BOI2 based Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware and instructions can be used only with the Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800H variant. Do not use this guide for any other device or incorrect variant.

Pre-Requirements:
- It is highly recommended to take proper backup of all your existing data like installed apps, contacts, SMS, MMS, videos and data stored on the internal storage.
- The latest version of a custom recovery like TWRP should be installed on your phone already.
- Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on the PC.
- Enable USB Debugging on your Galaxy S5 Mini by navigating to Setting > Developer Options.
- The battery level of your Galaxy S5 Mini should be charged at least about 80% to avoid unexpected shutdowns while rooting process.
Required Files:
- Download Custom Kernel For Galaxy S5 Mini G800H [Mirror]
- Download SuperSU v2.52
- Download Odin3 v3.10.7
Install Custom Kernel on Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800H using ODIN:
1:- First, download the modified kernel (Root_SM_G800H_DS_511_Required Files.zip) on the desktop of your PC.
2:- Extract the downloaded custom kernel .zip file to get the .tar extension file.
3:- Turn OFF the device in order to boot into Download Mode.
4:- Turn the Galaxy S5 ON while pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time for a while (2 to 3 seconds) till the warning with a yellow triangle sign appears.
5:- Now, extract the downloaded Odin3 v3.10.7.zip to get Odin3_v3.10.7.exe file and run it on your PC as Administrator.
6:- Connect the Galaxy S5 Mini with the PC using its USB data cable.
7:- If the USB drivers are correctly installed, then the ID: COM port on Odin will turn Blue and an “Added!!” message will be appeared once the device is connected successfully.
8:- In Odin software, click on the AP button and select the firmware .tar file that you have already extracted in Step No 2.
9:- Make sure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are checked but don’t check the Re-Partition box.
10:- In Odin, click on the Start button to begin the installation process.
10:- After the installation is completed successfully, a PASS! message will be appeared and the device will be restarted.
Done! You have successfully Installed the custom kernel on Galaxy S5 Mini G800H. Now we’ll root the firmware using SuperSU.
Root Galaxy S5 Mini G800H using SuperSU Package:
1:- Transfer the SuperSU package (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.52.zip) that you have already downloaded on your PC, to the internal storage of the Galaxy S5 Mini.
2:- Boot the device into TWRP recovery, to do this, first turn OFF the phone and then press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons altogether for a few seconds.
3:- While the Galaxy S5 Mini is now in TWRP recovery, take a nandroid backup of System, Data, Boot, Recovery, EFS.
4:- After the backup is completed, navigate to the main menu of TWRP and tap on the Install option. Locate the SuperSU file that you have already transferred to the phone’s internal storage. Select it and swipe the confirmation button to proceed with the installation.
5:- Once the SuperSU package is installed, reboot the device.
That’s All! You’ve successfully rooted Galaxy S5 Min G800H on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using SuperSU.
