Galaxy Note 7 is the latest Samsung’s flagship smartphone which is already very popular among the buyers all over the world. If you have owned this high-end device then I am sure that you’ll looking to root it. Rooting will remove the default factory restrictions and will permit you to taste amazing third-party apps, custom ROMs, custom recoveries and enhanced battery performance. We have a detailed step-by-step guide on how to root Galaxy Note 7 SM-N930F / FD (Exynos Variants only). In this guide, first we’ll flash a custom recovery on Galaxy Note 7 and then will install SuperSU using the custom recovery installed.
Here we will be using TWRP (TeamWinRecoveryProject) custom recovery which is a well-known custom recovery among Android community and is used to flash zip files (such as custom ROMs, Mods, superSU etc), Nandroid Backup/Restore and wiping data etc. Now go ahead and follow the given instructions.

Note:
This guide can be used for the the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 SM-N930F/FD (Exynos Variants). Do not try this rooting package for any other device or incorrect variant like SnapDragon variant. First, verify that you are using a Galaxy Note 7 with the Exynos variant of the processor.
Pre-Requirements:
- Take a proper backup of all your important data like SMS, MMS, Settings, Contents, Contacts and Call Logs etc before proceeding to the installation guide.
- Download and install the Samsung USB Drivers on your PC for your Galaxy Note 7.
- Enable USB Debugging Mode by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
- Open Settings > Developer options and enable OEM Unlock
- Custom recovery like TWRP should be already installed.
- The bootloader of your phone should be unlocked.
- The battery level of your Galaxy Note 7 SM-N930F / FD should be charged at least about 70% to avoid unexpected shutdowns.
Required Files:
- Download TWRP Custom Recovery for Galaxy Note 7 (twrp-3.0.2-0-gracelte.img.tar)
- Download SuperSU Root (BETA-SuperSU-v2.77-20160827190633.zip)
- Download Odin Tool
Steps to Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy Note 7 SM-N930F / FD:
1:- First, download the TWRP recovery and SuperSU .zip package from the above given links on desktop of your PC.
2:- Transfer the SuperSu zip file to your phone.
3:- Run Odin.exe on your PC as an Administrator.
4:- Power OFF the phone in order to boot into Download Mode.
5:- Power ON the device while pressing and holding Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time for a few seconds. A warning message will be displayed on the device then press Volume up button to confirm and it will boot your device into Download Mode.
6:- Connect Galaxy Note 7 to the computer using its USB data cable. Once the device is successfully connected, connecting your device to our PC you should get a Added message in the log of Odin and you will see a blue button at the top.(as shown below)
7:- Now click on the AP button in Odin tool, locate for the TWRP .tar file which you have already downloaded. Press OK. Make sure that Re-partition and Auto Reboot are NOT ticked, only F. Reset Time should be checked.
8:- In Odin click on the Start button to begin the flashing process and wait for the process to finish. A success message will be appeared in Odin after flashing TWRP.
Steps to Flash SuperSU to Gain Root Access:
9:- Disconnect the Galaxy Note 7 from the computer and press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time for a few seconds in order to boot the phone into custom recovery TWRP.
10:- You will be asked to allow system modifications. Swipe right to continue.
10:- In TWRP, select Wipe option and then swipe to format data on your Galaxy Note 7.
12:- Next, install the zip file you copied by selecting Install option in TWRP, browse for the SuperSU zip file and then swipe to confirm the installation.
13:- Reboot your Galaxy Note 7 to System and then wait for it to boot up.
Done! You have successfully installed TWRP custom recovery and have rooted your Galaxy Note 7.
