OxygenOS 13 | Release Date and Supported Devices

In this guide we will be talking about OxygenOS 13 release date and supported devices. Recently, a collaboration of Oppo and OnePlus resulted in the Chinese variants of OnePlus devices running on the ColorOS from Oppo.

But along with many features that OnePlus devices offer, OnePlus’s OxygenOS is a great Android skin that users love to use and is the reason that many Android users opt for OnePlus devices.

Due to the popularity of the Android skin, the OnePlus company has decided that it will continue releasing it’s global devices with OxygenOS so that it’s users will get what they most want.

OnePlus has promised that it will provide it’s devices including OnePlus 8 and newer devices will be receiving 3 major Android OS updates and 4 years of security patch updates.

So this means that devices including OnePlus 8 and those that have come after this will be receiving the OxygenOS 13 update because OnePlus 8 came with Android 10 out of the box and this will be it’s last major Android OS upgrade.

OxygenOS 13 | Release Date And Supported Devices

As of now, it is quite difficult to pinpoint an exact date for the official release of stable OxygenOS 13 because only the Android 13 developer preview has been released for Google Pixel devices.

Over the past years, it has been the trend for the OnePlus smartphone company to release the first beta version of OxygenOS after the second beta build of the approaching version of Android has been released by Google.

This normally occurs in June or July so there is quite some time before we get to see the download links for the first OxygenOS 13 beta build.

So before that, the only builds of OxygenOS that will be available for download will be the OxygenOS 12 builds. This is for the OnePlus 7 and later devices as the earlier devices will not receive the OxygenOS 12.

Supported Devices:

As we mentioned previously in this guide, the OxygenOS 13 update will only be provided to OnePlus 8 and newer devices. The list of the supported device goes as:

  • OnePlus 10 Pro
  • OnePlus 9RT
  • OnePlus 9
  • OnePlus 9 Pro
  • OnePlus 9R
  • OnePlus 8T
  • OnePlus 8
  • OnePlus 8 Pro
  • OnePlus Nord 2

The norm for receiving major Android OS upgrades is a bit different for the OnePlus Nord/ Nord CE devices. OnePlus has committed to provide two major Android upgrades and three years of security upgrades for these devices.

Apart from these, the budget devices including the devices from the Nord N series starting from N10 and N100 will be receiving one major Android OS upgrade and 3 years of security upgrades. So this points out that only one Nord device will be receiving the OxygenOS 13 update.

It is also worth mentioning that if you want to be a part of the OxygenOS 13 beta program, you must be using a flagship device for OnePlus because the OxygenOS 13 beta build will only be provided to devices from the flagship series.

The Nord device and the older eligible flagship devices will be receiving the OxygenOS 13 update directly. This will probably happen around the end of 2022 or in the first quarter of 2023.

So that was it from our side on OxygenOS 13. We hope that you found this guide helpful. Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
