Xiaomi Redmi 10 IP Rating
IP ratings given to phones help users to know whether a phone is waterproof or not. IP stands for Ingress protection and tells you to what extent a phone is resistant to dust and water. For a phone to be fully waterproof, it should have at least an IP68 rating. An IP 68 rating suggests that a phone can handle full immersion in water without any problems.

To make sure whether the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is safe to be used around water, we conducted a splash test and a submersion test to determine is the Redmi 10 waterproof or not.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 Splash Test:
The first test is the splash test. This will include immersing the phone in water for a short period. It is expected that the phone will keep working fine after the test because modern phones are designed to be splash resistant.
So we took a bowl full of water and then dropped the Xiaomi Redmi 10 in the bowl. We took it out and then dried it, after which we tried to use the phone.
After the splash test, the phone worked perfectly fine. This means the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is splash resistant and will not present issues if accidentally dropped into water for a short time period.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 Submersion test:
The second test is the submersion test. This will include immersing the phone in water and leaving it there for a longer time period. This will provide us the answer to the question, i.e. is the Xiaomi Redmi 10 waterproof or not.
We took another bowl full of water and this time we immersed the phone in water and let it stay there for a full minute. We took the phone after the minute passed and then thoroughly dried it until we made sure that there were no water droplets left.
After the submersion test we tested various aspects of the phone. We tested the touch, camera, charging port, microphone, speakers, etc. All of them were working fine without any issues.
Conclusion
The tests showed that the Redmi 10 can withstand water even after being submerged in water for a full minute. Although this shows that it is safe to use Redmi 10 around water, this does not mean that the phone is waterproof because there are no official IP ratings. So you should stay careful while using the Redmi 10 near water.
