TWRP Custom Recovery for OnePlus
As you already know by now, the TWRP recovery is a custom recovery developed by Team Win. This custom recovery is an open source utility which can be used by any user or developer. All Android phones are already integrated with a recovery partition whose main purpose is to be used by the original Android operating system inside the phone to flash and install officially sourced Android system updates. This is where custom recoveries like TWRP come in.
By installing a custom recovery like TWRP, you can gain many benefits. Working as an alternative to the the stock recovery partition integrated in a phone, TWRP recovery introduces various additional functions to a phone. It’s main benefit is that it lets you install third party zip files which is not possible with the phone’s own recovery partition. TWRP recovery is also essential if you want to root your phone or install any custom ROMs. Alongside working as a pillar for custom mods on a phone, it adds bespoke features like TWRP backup and restore functionality.
Below mentioned, are some of the primary features that users use TWRP recovery for:
- Gaining root
- Factory Reset
- Creating System Backups
- Wiping system partitions
- Installing custom ROMs / ZIP files
