Install One UI 2.1 Update For Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M21

Once you have extracted your firmware file from the ZIP file above, follow these steps in order to install One UI 2.1 update for Galaxy M31 and M21:

STEP 1: As mentioned before, you need to make sure that you have downloaded the correct firmware file that corresponds to your device’s model.

STEP 2: Next, you need to download the Samsung Odin Flash Tool which is required to install the One UI 2.1 update for Galaxy M31 and M21.

STEP 3: Next, you need to enter your phone into Download mode. For this, first power off your phone and then enter into download mode by pressing volume down and power buttons together.

STEP 4: After that, download the correct USB drivers for your device on your computer.

STEP 5: Once Odin is downloaded, open it up on your computer and connect your device to your computer while it is in download mode.

STEP 6: If one of the ID:COM boxes turns yellow with the COM port number, this will mean that

STEP 7: Now you have to select the files that you have to flash on your device. The file should be among the extracted files from step 1. Then follow the mentioned steps:

  • First click on “AP” and select the file with “AP” in its name.
  • Then click on “CP” and select the file with “MODEM” in its name. If you find no such file, then leave this step.
  • Next click on “CSC” and select the file with “CSC” in its name. If you find no such file, then leave this step.
  • After that, click on “PIT” and select the .pit file. If you find no such file, then leave this step.
  • Then click on “BL” and select the the file with “BL” in its name. If you find no such file, then leave this step.

In case you are using an older version of Odin or you are flashing a file which does not have the above mentioned file names, then the abbreviations below are the appropriate ones for the previous format. Stay assured that only the file name changes and there is no difference in the functionality.

  • AP=PDA
  • BL=Bootloader
  • CP=Modem

STEP 8: Then in Odin, you need to check the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options. If you select a .pit file in the above step, then you also need to check the Re-Partition option.

STEP 9: Now you have to click on the Start button in Odin. This will initiate the installation process which will take a few minutes to be completed.

STEP 10: Once the installation is complete, your phone will reboot. After your phone has completely restarted, disconnect it from your computer.
