Pre-Requirements:
- Take a proper back up of your important data and settings on the phone using a custom recovery such as TWRP. In case anything goes wrong then you’ll be able to restore your data.
- Download and install proper USB Drivers for the Galaxy E5 on PC.
- Enable USB Debugging Mode on Galaxy E5 by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
- The latest version of a custom recovery like TWRP should be installed on it.
- Make sure that the battery level of your Galaxy E5 is at least about 80% before proceeding to the installation guide.

Steps to Update Galaxy E5 E500H to CyanogenMod 12.1 Custom ROM:
1:- Download the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop CM 12.1 ROM and Google Apps zipped for Galaxy E5 from the above link on the desktop of your PC.
2:- Copy/paste the ROM .zip file to the root folder of internal storage of Galaxy E5.
3:- Turn OFF the phone to boot into TWRP recovery.
4:- Turn the device ON while pressing and holding Volume Down + Power keys altogether.
5:- While the Galaxy E5 is now in TWRP recovery, perform a nandroid backup.
Note:- Tap on backup option in TWRP and select all the partitions including System, Data, Boot, Recovery, EFS.
6:- Once the backup is finished, go back to the TWRP main menu. Tap on wipe button > select Advanced Wipe, Dalvik Cache, System, Data, and Cache.
7:- Navigate to the main menu of TWRP and tap on the install. Locate the ROM .zip file that you have already transferred to the internal storage of your device and select it.
8:- Confirm the installation by swiping it to proceed with the installation.
9:- Repeat the above steps to install Google Apps package on your Galaxy E5 E500H.
10:- After the ROM and Gapps installation is completed, select Reboot System in TWRP recovery.
Done! You have installed CM12.1 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on Galaxy E5 successfully.
