Update Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100 to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop via CM12 Custom ROM

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is now available to install on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100 via CM12 custom ROM. Pre-Requirements:

Step No 1: – First of all, download the CM12 Android 5.0.2 Lollipop custom ROM and Google Apps .zip files from the above-given links on the desktop of your PC for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Step No 2: – Connect your tablet to the PC using its USB data cable and mount its USB memory storage.

Step No 3: – Copy Android 5.0.2 CM12 Lollipop custom ROM .zip file which you’ve already downloaded from the above link to the root folder of your SD card on the phone.

Step No 4: – Now, disconnect the Galaxy Tab 2 from the PC and power it OFF to boot into Recovery Mode.

Step No 5: – Power ON the device while pressing and holding Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time to enter into Recovery Mode.

Step No 6: – While your device is now in CWM Recovery, perform a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe Dalvik cache also by navigating to Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache.

Note: – Wipe Dalvik cache will help you to prevent boot loops and other errors during ROM installation.

Step No 7: – Go back to the main Recovery Menu and choose to install zip from SD card → choose zip from sd card.

Step No 8: – Navigate to the Android 5.0.2 CM12 Lollipop ROM .zip file which you’ve already transferred to the SD card of your device previously. Select the ROM .zip file using the Power button and confirm the installation to begin.

Step No 9:- Navigate to +++++Go Back+++++ once the installation is completed. From Recovery Menu, reboot your device by selecting reboot system now.

Your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100 will be reset and may take about five minutes to boot.

  1. Hi, when the device tries to load from the SD card it gives an error in the verification of the .ZIP file (the message is “failed to verify whole-file signature”). I checked the MD5 code when I downloaded it and it matches. Any idea of what could be wrong?

    1. Try update your clockwork to latest version ,after run in recovery mod from external SD card the custom ROM !!!

  2. The flashing was okay, but the rom is quite buggy. I mean, upon the first 5 mins of launching it it alrd hanged. How should I go about this? A popup kept appearing, saying “Email has stopped working”, and even if I dismiss it it keeps coming back. And then the whole thing just freezes.

  3. I managed to install tab 2 10.1, I use Odin3_v1.85 to install ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0. Then install cm-12-20150206-Unofficial-P5100 and GAPPS-lp-20,141,113-signed
