How To Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow AOSParadox ROM on OnePlus One

OnePlus One owners want to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow? You can now get the official latest Android OS OTA roll out on these handsets. Thanks to the XDA Developers for providing an AOSP based custom firmware which is now available for OnePlus One. This AOSP custom ROM is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The ROM is currently under development and you might face some minor software issues but many users have tested this firmware and found it very stable which is enough for a daily use because this experimental build is based on CyanogenMod 12.1 Kernel and is highly-stable.

As we have already mentioned that this is a custom ROM which is developed by the third-party developers, not officially released by OnePlus or Google thus you’ll be required to have a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM already installed in order to flash the latest Android 6.0 AOSParadox Project 1.0 ROM on OnePlus One. All you need to have a rooted OnePlus One device with the latest version of a custom recovery pre-installed on it and the bootloader of your device should be unlocked as well. Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow AOSParadox ROM on OnePlus One

Note:

This guide containing the AOSP Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM and instructions can be used only for the OnePlus One devices. Do not try to install this firmware on any other device or incorrect variant. Check out the model number of your device from Settings > About Phone.

Warning:

AndroidBlog will not be responsible for any kind of damage occurred to your OnePlus One during or after the installation of AOSP Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom firmware. Rooting or installing a custom ROM will void the warranty of your device. By following this guide you’ll need to unlock the bootloader and you won’t be able to receive further OTAs.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Take a proper backup of all your data and settings using a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP to make a complete image of the existing phone setup. In case anything goes wrong then you’ll be able to restore it back.
  • Download and install OnePlus One USB Drivers on your PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
  • OnePlus One should be rooted and the latest version of a custom recovery should be installed on it.
  • The bootloader of your phone must be unlocked.
  • Make sure that the battery level of your phone should be at least about 80% before proceeding to the installation guide.

Steps to Flash Android 6.0 Marshmallow AOSParadox ROM on OnePlus One:

1:- First, download Android 6.0 AOSParadox ROM for OnePlus One on the desktop of the PC.

2:- Plug your device to the PC using its USB data cable and mount its USB mass storage.

3:- Transfer AOSP Android 6.0 ROM .zip file which you’ve already downloaded from the above link, to the root folder of your SD card on the phone.

4:- Unplug the OnePlus One from the PC and power it OFF in order to boot into Recovery Mode.

5:- Power ON the device while pressing and holding Volume Down + Power buttons together to enter into Recovery Mode.

6:- While the OnePlus One is now in TWRP Recovery, perform a full data wipe by clicking on Wipe button. Next, swipe on the Swipe to Factory Reset option.

7:- Navigate to the main menu of recovery. Tap on the Install button and locate the AOSP ROM .zip file that you already transferred to the phone’s memory.

8:- Swipe on the “Swipe to Confirm Flash” option to confirm the installation on next screen to begin.

9:- After the installation is successfully finished, tap on Wipe Cache/Dalvik button.

Note: Wipe Cache/Dalvik cache will help you to prevent boot loop and firmware related issues.

10:- Finally, reboot the device by tapping on Reboot System button in the Recovery menu.

Your OnePlus One will be rebooted and may take about 4 to 5 minutes to boot for the first time after installation.
