The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update is now available for the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition (GPe). HTC One M8’s owners can install this update manually, thanks to the XDA senior member Dadud for uploading this OTA update which was recently captured by a Redditor. The size of this new update is about 244MB that comes with a lot of new 5.1 Lollipop features like:

• Ability to control paired Bluetooth devices from quick settings

Pre-Requirements:

Steps to Install Stock Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update on HTC One M8 GPe Manually

1:- First, download the Android 5.1 OTA update on the desktop of your PC for HTC One M8 GPe.

2:- Connect the HTC One M8 with PC using its USB data cable and transfer the Android 5.1 OTA .zip file to the internal storage of phone.

3:- Turn OFF the M8 in order to boot into recovery mode.

4:- Press and hold Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time till Fastboot menu appears.

5:- Navigate and highlight Recovery option using Volume buttons and confirm selection with Power button.

6:- The HTC One M8 should now reboot and a red Android logo with an exclamation mark on the screen will be displayed.

7:- Press the Volume Up button followed by the Power button to enter into the stock recovery.

8:- Choose “Apply from phone storage” option and navigate to the OTA .zip file that you’ve already transferred to the internal storage of your phone. Confirm selection by hitting the Power button. This process may take some time, wait for the installation process to be finished.

9:- Select Reboot System Now option to boot into the newly installed Android 5.1 firmware.
