The current changes that have been introduced by Google with the Google Play system update for February 2023 are mainly improvements to older features. One of the prominent updates is that the notification for Nearby Sharing is automatically pinned when the feature is active. Users who frequently utilize the feature will find this change very useful while sharing their files with other devices. Below, we have shared the entire list of patch notes:
- Device Connectivity
- [Phone] Pin Nearby Sharing heads up notification to screen when shown.
- Google Play Store
- New Features to help you discover the Apps & Games you love.
- Optimizations allowing faster and more reliable download and installation.
- Continuous improvements to Play Protect to keep your device safe.
- Various performance optimizations, bug fixes and improvements to security, stability and accessibility.
- Developer Services
- [Phone] New developer features for Google and third party app developers to support Machine Learning & AI related developer services in their apps.
You should note that the changes and features mentioned above are only available for the Google Play Store version 34.3 and the Google Play services version 04.23, both of which were released on the first of this month. These are still in the process of being rolled out to eligible devices, so you still may not have the latest versions on your phone.
You can check your current version by opening the Google Play store application and going to the About section in Settings. From this menu, you can check the version of the app that is installed on your phone, and you can update it from there as well. But as we mentioned, your device may not have received the latest version yet.
