Slim6 ROM is based on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as HTC One M7 was one of the first Android devices to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow officially but if you want to optimize and customize your M7 and enjoy the brilliant performance with amazing battery and the great after market features of latest Android OS on your phone then simply update HTC One (M7) to Android 6.0.1 Slim6 Marshmallow custom ROM by following the given guide below.
Slim6 ROM is free of non-sense features and is pure Android experience. Many users have tested it and found it very stable and working fast without bugs. Keep in mind that the latest version of a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP should be pre-installed on your HTC One M7 in order to flash the Slim6 ROM and Google Apps package. Also the bootlaoder of your M7 must be unlocked, otherwise you’ll not be able to install Slim6 custom ROM.

Pre-Requirements:
- Take a proper backup of all your important data of the One M7 before proceeding to the installation guide using a recommended custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.
- Download HTC One M7 USB Drivers
- Enable USB Debugging Mode on your HTC One M7 by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
- The HTC One M7 should be rooted with the latest version of custom recovery installed.
- The bootloader of the phone must be unlocked.
- Check the battery level of your One M7, it should be charged at least about 70% to prevent unexpected shutdowns while installation.

Steps to Flash Slim6 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on HTC One M7:
1:- Download Slim6 Android 6.0.1 ROM for HTC One M7 on the desktop of your PC.
2:- Extract boot.img from the zip file separately.
3:- Now, plug your HTC One M7 to the PC and mount its USB memory using the USB cable.
4:- Transfer the downloaded Android 6.0.1 Slim6 ROM zip and Google Apps package .zip files to the root folder of your SD card.
5:- Also transfer the boot.img file to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory on your PC.
6:- Power OFF the M7 in order to boot into Bootloader Mode.
7:- Power ON the device while pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time.
8:- While the phone is now in Fastboot mode, navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory (on your PC) and open Command Prompt within the folder.
9:- Type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
10:- Then, type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot reboot
10:- Follow the on-screen prompts and choose BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.
12:- Now the M7 is in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”.
13:- Perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition”.
14:- Go back to the main menu of recovery and select “install zip from SD card”.
15:- Select “choose zip from sdcard”. Locate the Android 6.0.1 Slim6 ROM zipped file that you already transferred to your SD card by using volume keys and select it using the Power button.
16:- Confirm the installation on the next screen to begin.
17:- Next, repeat the above step for the installation of Google Apps package on your phone.
18:- Once the installation process is successfully completed, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.
The phone will take about 4 to 5 minutes to boot for the first time after installing new ROM.
Done! You have successfully installed Slim6 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow custom ROM on your HTC One M7.
