How To Enter Bootloader Mode on Google Pixel And Pixel XL

Google’s has launched the latest Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones recently. These both phones come with impressive specifications, features, new design and the latest Android 7.1 Nougat software. If you want to boot your Google Pixel / Pixel XL into fast boot mode to unlock the bootloader, then you must boot first it into bootloader mode. In this guide, we will learn that how we can enter Bootloader mode on Google Pixel and Pixel XL Smartphones. You’ll need to enter the bootloader mode if you want to perform some custom operations like gaining root, unlocking the bootloader, flashing a custom recovery image or installing a custom kernel.

Entering bootloader mode is an official operation, so there is no any risk. The Bootloader mode can be accessed without using any third party applications, and this is a build-in feature of this device, but this mode is hidden and cannot be accessed from settings because a newbie can not access this easily if he/she does not know how to manage stuff from the bootloader.

There are many ways to boot your Google Pixel or Pixel XL in bootloader mode, but you can’t enter it directly. Also, the bootloader mode is important even if you wish to go to recovery mode or another environment through which you can modify and access the default Android OS that is running on your Google Pixel XL.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Unlocking the bootloader will completely wipe all data from your phone. Even the internal storage will be deleted. So it is highly recommended to take backup of your important data and settings first.
  • Download & Install Google Pixel and Pixel XL USB Drivers
  • Enable USB Debugging mode by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
  • Make sure that the battery level is at least about 80% of your Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

How to Enter Bootloader Mode on Google Pixel and Pixel XL:

Step No 1: Power on your Google Pixel XL.

Step No 2: Then, connect your smartphone to your computer and establish the connection with the help of your phone’s USB cable.

Step No 3: On your computer, navigate to the Android SDK directory.

Step No 4: Open a command prompt window. Just type the following command and hit enter.

adb reboot bootloader

Done! Your Google Pixel XL will be automatically rebooted into bootloader mode.
