Install TWRP on Samsung Galaxy Phones

Following the instructions provided to you below, you can install TWRP on Samsung devices. Before you initiate the process, you must have an unlocked bootloader on your Samsung Galaxy device. Most Samsung Galaxy phones  already come with an unlocked bootloader.

Step 1: First of all, you need to download the TWRP recovery package for your Samsung Galaxy device from the links provided to you above and then put the file at any location inside your computer. You need to download the Encryption disabler script zip package as well.

NOTE: You need to make sure that the files you have downloaded are the appropriate ones for your Samsung Galaxy device.

Step 2: Next, download Odin. This tool will help you to install TWRP on Samsung devices.

Step 3: Now you will need to turn off your device. Then proceed to Download Mode. Try the following three methods listed for Samsung phones depending on the year of your device’s release. Your phone should be switched off before each procedure.

  • Connect a USB type C cable to your phone while holding the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously while your Samsung phone is powered off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down + Bixby + power buttons at the same time. Then just press the power button until you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. To enter into download mode, press the power button once again.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down + power buttons at the same time. Then just press the power button until you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. To enter into download mode, press the power button once again.

Step 4: Then you need to install the proper USB drivers on your computer for your device in order to properly install TWRP on Samsung devices.

Step 5: Then open the Odin tool on your computer. Now connect your phone to your PC while it is download mode.

Step 6: You will know that your phone has been connected successfully when one of the ID:COM boxes turns yellow with the COM port number. This step is a little time consuming.

Step 7: Now you need to select the file that you downloaded earlier in Step 1. Click on ‘PDA’ / ‘AP’ And there select the TWRP recovery package that you downloaded specifically for your Samsung device in step 1.

Step 8: Inside the Odin tool, uncheck the Auto Reboot and  check F. Reset Time options, if they are not done by default.

Step 9: Then you need to click on the Start button in Odin to initiate the installation process which would take a few minutes to be completed.

Step 10: Once the installation has been completed, You need to hold your Power Button and Volume down button together until your phone’s screen turns black.

Step 11: Once this is done, release the buttons and now press the button combination that takes your phone into recovery mode. Then you will be able to see the custom TWRP recovery interface. When you boot for the first time, TWRP will ask to modify your phone’s system, you should decline it.

Step 12: Now you need to flash the encryption disabler ZIP file from TWRP recovery. (You can skip this step if your device has a TWRP version but no encryption disabler file.)

Step 13: Once it is done, select Reboot from TWRP.
