Note:

This guide containing the Android 5.1 Resurrection Remix ROM and instructions are working with only HTC One X. Do  not try to install this firmware on any other device or incorrect variant. Check the model number of your device first.

Warning:

Pre-Requirements:

  • Create a proper backup of all your existing data and settings on the phone before proceeding to the installation guide using a recommended custom recovery.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on the One X by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
  • Verify that you’ve properly installed the HTC One X USB Drivers on the PC.
  • The HTC One X should be rooted with the latest version of a custom recoveries like CWM or TWRP installed.
  • The bootloader of your One X must be unlocked.
  • The ADB and Fastboot should be configured on your PC [How To]
  • Make sure that the battery level of the One X is at least over 70% before going ahead.

Required Files:

Steps to Install Resurrection Remix Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom ROM on HTC One X

1:- First, extract the Android 5.1 Resurrection Remix Lollipop custom ROM (cm-Resurrection_Remix_LP_v5.4.1-20150409-endeavoru_NEW-LAYOUT.zip) on the desktop of your PC to get the boot.img file.

2:- Now, plug your HTC One X to the PC and mount the USB Mass Storage of the phone.

3:- Transfer the Android 5.1 Resurrection Remix ROM zipped file that you’ve already downloaded from the above link to the root folder of your SD Card.

4:- After that, transfer the boot.img file to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory on your PC.

5:- Once the files are copied, turn OFF the device in order to boot into Bootloader/Fastboot Mode.

6:- Turn ON the One X while pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power keys at the same time.

7:- While your HTC One X is now into Fastboot Mode. Go to the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools folder and within that launch Command Prompt, then type the following command and press enter:

fastboot flash boot boot.img

8:- Now type this command and hit enter:

fastboot reboot

9:- Select the BOOTLOADER option from RECOVERY by following the on-screen instructions.

10:- In CWM Recovery, select Wipe data/Factory Reset to perform a full data wipe. Then Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache too.

10:- Go back to the main menu of Recovery and choose to install zip from SD card > choose zip from sdcard.

12:- Locate the Android 5.1 Resurrection Remix custom ROM zipped file which you have already transferred to the root folder of your SD Card on the phone. Start the ROM installation process by confirming on the next screen.

13:- Install Google Apps (GApps) by repeating the same procedure as given above.

14:- After the ROM and Gapps installation is completed, choose “+++++Go Back+++++” and from the Recovery Menu, select Reboot System Now.

The HTC One X will be rebooted and may take about 5 to 6 minutes while booting up for the first time after installing ROM and Google Apps.

  1. Is this a new layout ROM or an old layout ROM. Also, the latest version of CWM is not compatible with new layout ROM and the touch does not work on the lastest TWRP. So, only an old layout ROM can be installed on HTV One X (Endeavoru) in my experience.
